We went to Moab for the Jeep Safari. It was fun, but out of about 9 jeeps, 3 of them broke axles.

I went on a trip to Moab while Kris and Kwinci went to Florida for a Cheer comeptition. I had to put the camera on timer and had 10 seconds to get in the picture on Musselman Arch. It is hard to tell this is an arch in the picture, but it is way down underneath. The weather and temperature was perfect. And I didn't see another person on the trails I went on in 2 days, probably because it was Monday. (Elephant Hill, and White Rim Trail)

Jamie's blog reminded me that it is Carson's birthday on the 13th. What a Good boy! I read through the blog of Gracie, and I am glad that Carson didn't have to suffer. I love him, and look forward to getting to know him better.

The Deer hunt

There are a couple of trees, up at the old hunting grounds, that I started to carve on maybe 30 years ago. I started out with just me and Kris, and then just kept adding names as they came along. Boy the years go by fast. Luke was the only one in the "Old Mansfield Deer Camp" where in years past it would be full of hunters, mostly relatives on the Mansfield side. The Gillman grandsons seem to be the only ones left. It was a successful hunt for Tage and Kaleb. They saw a 4 point, got a shot, followed a blood trail until they lost it, and didn't get anything. (Tage is a good tracker, like an indian.) Now that I'm older, it doesn't get much better than that. I made the question mark in the tree, before we knew what Kwinci's name was. Then added her name the next year.
